Demand for HR rides high in China and Hong Kong

HR recruitment demand was particularly high in China and Hong Kong, especially for talent acquisitionspecialists. In Hong Kong, advertised HR roles tended to be for replacements rather than recruitment into a new role.

Overall, demand here for HR professionals showed 25 per cent year-on-year growth, according to theRobert Walters’ Asia Job Index, with recruitment adverts for professional roles as a whole in China up 17 per cent. Both trends tie in with reports from employers in the region about the importance and difficulties in attracting and retaining key skills and talent in China.

HR clearly has an important role in achieving this, which is also likely to affect the reward package for in-demand transformational HR experts.
