7th Biennial Global Immigration Conference – Feedback from a TIRA member

Topic: Global Immigration in a Shrinking but Troubled World

18 – 20th November 2015IBA Immigration Conference with TIRA members 2015

Relocation Africa attended the International Bar Association’s 7th Global Immigration Conference in London, UK. This conference is presented by the IBA Immigration and Nationality Law Committee and supported by the IBA European Regional Forum.

The topics covered a broad spectrum from Global Mobility in a political landscape, discussion on whether business visitors rules are relevant in a mobile world, Global transfers, skilled workers, employer compliance and how globalization is changing the employment conditions and some variety in the breakout sessions which included a panel on the BRICS countries which was of interest to Relocation Africa.

The conference is different to one’s we have attended in the past however, the topics were interesting and relevant and the people attending were friendly and engaging. We certainly see the value in the content and will return again to the next conference. There were a number of TIRA members’ present namely Lena Rekdal (Sweden), Marjo Lautjärvi, (Finland), Raman Narula (India) and Marie O’Neil (UAE) (New Member).
